We currently employ three members of staff to run our daily sessions. Read more about them in their own words...
I have been an Early Years Practitioner at Blackhall Playgroup for 7 years. Prior to becoming a qualified Early Years Practitioner, I was a Staff Nurse for many years.
With 2 teenage boys of my own, I have become particularly fascinated in how young children learn through play and I really enjoy working with families to support their child’s Playgroup journey.
One of my passions is preparing healthy food and I am always keen to encourage the children to try new foods at snack time!
Hello, my name is Elaine. I have rejoined the Blackhall Playgroup team, having previously worked there from 2012 to 2017. I qualified as an early years practitioner in 2015.
Being a mum myself to teenage twins, I find it interesting how young children develop over time, and how important the early years are in terms of growth, learning and development.
I am delighted to be back at playgroup, and am looking forward to supporting the children in their every day activities.
Hi, my name is Katalin. I am a Playgroup Assistant currently carrying out my qualification to register with the SSSC as a qualified early years practitioner.
I am currently studying in my own time, while being part of the playgroup team, learning lot’s during every playgroup session.
My daughter used to attend Blackhall Playgroup, and it was during this time I got to know the staff and develop an interest in a career in the Early Years sector. I am very patient with children, helping them learn while also having fun!
Hi, I’m Nuala and I’m a Playgroup Assistant. I’m currently working on my qualification to register with the SSSC as a qualified early years practitioner, while also working at the Playgroup.
Before working at Playgroup, I worked as a Nutritionist and have three children of my own so I’ve learnt a lot about children and how they think through being a mummy!
Since having my own children, I have also been working as a childminder. I love seeing how children learn and develop their own interests.
